DRb as a windows service fails to start on system boot

when an installed ferret service is set to start automatically on system start it'll fail with just the message that the service failed to respond in a timely fashion.

the only log entry that gets created is this timestamp: # Logfile created on Wed Jan 30 18:00:12 +0100 2008 by logger.rb/1.5.2.9

i'm guessing this is caused by some environment vars that aren't available on boot time. at least that's the only thing that comes to mind.

after logon the service can be started manually without problems.
